Our Team

Maxine Friend

Maxine Friend is the owner and trainer of Rocky Ridge Dog Training Academy.

Maxine grew up in Sydney, Australia, and from the time she could walk had a strong passion for animals, and especially dogs.

Maxine is a certified Professional Pet Trainer from one of the premier dog training academies in the United States, Top Tier K9; and under the guidance of Master Dog Trainers, Jeff Minder and Alyssa Browning, Maxine has developed an in-depth knowledge on pet training, Foundation Dog® training and understanding her client's needs.

Maxine is currently working towards her Masters in Dog Training with specialties in Scent Detection and Service Dogs.

Sam Friend

Sam works in all aspects of running and maintaining our facilities, along with assisting Maxine in the training of our client's dogs.

Sam has worked in our local town of Brooklin for 30 years, providing community service as Fire Chief, Shellfish Warden and Town Constable.

Ruger

Ruger is a 12-month-old German Shepherd trained in basic and advanced obedience; and is currently working towards deer and antler recovery detection.

Remington

Remington is a black German Shepherd and our newest addition to the pack. Remington is currently in-training to be Maxine's primary demonstration dog with training in advanced obedience, scent, service, trail and bite work.
